Dr. Linus

Original Reality:

**  Ilana uses Jacob's ashes that she gathered to use Miles to determine how he died.  Miles knows that Ben killed Jacob.

**  The "Ajira" group sets up camp at the Losties' beach when they realize they can't go to the Temple

**  It is still unknown as to which Kwon is the potential and we now know there are only 6 potentials left.

**  Jack & Hurley are working their way back to the Temple.  Richard shows up and leads them to the Temple, but really takes them to The Black Rock  

**  Ben learns that LaPidas was originally supposed to fly O815 and makes the comment about the island getting him eventually

**  Ilana takes Ben to the grave sites and hooks him to a tree and makes him dig his own grave. 

**  Richard was given a "gift" from Jacob when Jacob touched him - this is what keeps him from aging.  We know Jacob touched a bunch of our guys - what gifts did they get?  Are they immortal too?

**  Richard tells them that everyone at the Temple is dead and tells Hurley to not believe everything Jacob says and then marches into the Black Rock claiming he's going to die.

**  Sounds like Richard arrived on The Black Rock.  Richard is having a major crisis of faith.  He wants Jack to kill him since he can't kill himself.  

**  Jack lights the fuse and wants to make Richard talk.  The fuse goes out - proving to Jack that they are supposed to be there. 

**  Mid-dig, Ben hears Smokey coming and show up as Locke.  Locke tries to recruit Ben.

**  Ilana forgives Ben so that he doesn't have to go with Locke

**  Miles dug up Nikki & Paolo's diamonds - hilarious

**  Hurley, Jack & Richard show up on the beach.  Everyone is happy to see Jack & Hurley.  Except for Ben.  

**  WIDMORE FOUND THE ISLAND!!! 

New Reality:

**  Ben is a history teacher giving an interesting lecture about Napoleon losing his power on an island.  He has to give up History Club for Detention Babysitting.  Cracks me up that Artz is so involved in the New Reality.  He's going to end up being the lynchpin in this whole series.

**  Turns out that Ben and his Dad did go to the island, super interesting. 

**  Alex is one of his students.  I would have thought she would have grown up in France.  

**  Alex tells Ben about the Principal participating in an inappropriate relationship with the School Nurse - Ben's opportunity to expose the Principal and take his job.  Yup!  Wow - but Reynolds is prepared to trash Alex before giving in to Ben's attempt.

**  Ben chooses Alex in this reality.  Kinda sweet.

Sundown

Original Reality:

**  Every man has a scale of good and evil inside - Dogan "weighed" Sayid, and he tipped evil.  Sayid & Dogan rumble.  A baseball dropping to the ground stops Dogan from killing Sayid.  Why?  

**  Black Shirt sends Claire into the Temple in exchange for her son. 

**  Sayid talks to Miles.  Whoa, it had been 2 hours that he was dead?  I did NOT realize that.

**  Sayid is about to leave the Temple because Dogan ordered him to leave, but then Dogan changes his mind.

**  Black Shirt is "free" now that Jacob is gone.  Dogan wants Sayid to kill Black Shirt.  Dogan confirms for us that Black Shirt will appear as a dead person.

**  My guess, Black Shirt will show up as Nadia to Sayid, since she's dead in the Original Reality

**  Kate returns to the Temple. 

**  Bummer, I was wrong, he shows up as Locke... and Sayid stabs him right away.  Impressive.  But it was too late because Fake Locke already spoke to him.

**  Locke offers Sayid ANYTHING - infers that Sayid could have Nadia back, and that seems to be all the incentive Sayid needs to follow evil.

**  Sayid delivers the message - they can leave the island with Black Shirt, or stay at the Temple and die.

**  Kate & Claire chat.  Kate tells her that she has Aaron, Claire tells her that Black Shirt is coming

**  Everyone is leaving the Temple.

**  The baseball was Dogan's son's ball.  Son injured from Dogan's drunk driving.  Jacob saved Son in exchange for Dogan coming to the island, but Dogan would never see his son again.

**  Sundown - stay or go?  Sayid wants to stay, and attacks Dogan.  Drowns Dogan and then kills Lennon.  Apparently, Dogan was keeping Black Shirt out of the Temple but since he's dead, BS comes into the Temple as Smokey, killing people.  

**  Kate goes back in order to get Claire.  

**  Ilana, LaPidas Sun & Ben show up.  Illana finds a secret door at the same symbol that Hurley was admiring in last week's episode.  They hop in the secret room, away from Smokey.

**  Kate jumps in the hole with Claire to avoid Smokey. 

**  Sayid admires the carnage

**  Claire & Kate come out... it doesn't bother Claire, but Kate is upset. 

**  Black Shirt now has a group of followers.  Includes Sayid, Claire and a bunch of Others.

New Reality:

**  Sayid arrives in LA at Nadia's house.  Only NOW, Nadia is married to Sayid's brother!  That is so messed up!

**  Sayid's job - translating for oil companies; Omar supposedly owns dry cleaning stores

**  Omar is in trouble, borrowed money from some shady dudes to open the new dry cleaning store.  He wants Sayid to "convince" the shady dudes to stop charging him interest.

**  Omar was "mugged" - and is at the same hospital where Jack works.  Nadia doesn't want Sayid to do anything.

**  Sayid doesn't think he's good enough for Nadia.

**  The shady dudes stop Sayid from going to pick up the kids.  Keemy from the Freighter is there.  They clearly didn't know who they were dealing with and Sayid kills them all.  

**  HOLY MOLY - Jin is in the freezer!?!?!?!  Does it have something to do with all that money that was in his suitcase?

Lighthouse

Original Reality:

**  Jacob is hanging out at the pool and talks to Hurley again about someone coming to the island.  

**  Claire frees Jin and helps him, but he passes out.  When he wakes up, he's in some type of shelter of Claire's.  Claire has pieced together a scary-looking fake baby using random bones.  Creepier - the Other tells Jin that Claire will kill them both.

**  Hurley has a bunch of stuff written on his arm and he goes looking for something in the temple  - when Hurley tells Togan that he is a candidate, Togan lets him continue.  But Jacob stops him because he needs Jack to be part of this "mission".  Jacob uses the phrase, "You have what it takes," to convince Jack - since Christian used to always make Jack think that he DOESN'T have what it takes.  

**  Jack goes with Hurley.  They find Kate and she's on a mission to find Claire. 

**  Claire has been talking to Christian and "her friend"

**  Jack steps over an asthma inhaler - the caves.  Hurley suggests that maybe those skeletons are them because of the time traveling.  That would be crazy whack.

**  Jack came back to the island because he was broken, and thought that the island could fix him. 

**  Jin tells Claire that Kate took Aaron off the island.  She kills the Other anyway.

**  Jack & Hurley arrive at the lighthouse.  They need the lighthouse to be at 108 degrees (sum of the numbers) - there are names written along the dial.  Jack sees something in the mirror and when he clicks on #23 - Jack's number - the mirrors show a picture of Jack's house.  Jack believes this is how Jacob has watched them.  Jack destroys the mirrors.  

**  Jacob had to get Hurley & Jack away from the Temple because someone bad was going there

**  Jin changes his story and says that Aaron really is at the Temple and that they must go there to get him.  She threatens Kate if she has Aaron.  Turns out her "friend" is Black Shirt.

New Reality:

**  Jack has a scar where Kate had to give him stitches on the island.  Weird.  His Mom claims that it is from an appendectomy

**  St. Mary's Academy - picks up his SON, David!!!  WTH!?!?  

**  David is reading Alice in Wonderland, big book for the Lost series - they don't have a close relationship

**  Jack's mom finds Christian's will.  Claire is mentioned in the will.

**  Jack returns to the condo, but David isn't there.  He finds out that David had an audition with a conservatory - he makes it there to catch part of his performance.  And he sees Togan and his son at the auditions!?!    This brings us to another moment where Jack's memories within this reality are sketchy - like they're fabricated somehow and his brain hasn't accepted the fake version of his sideways life.  


SIDENOTE:  For any of you Buffy fans - this season is really starting to resemble it.  Jack's fuzzy memories are so Season 5.

The Substitute

Original Reality:

**  Fake Locke is traveling as Smokey and then just *becomes* Fake Locke. 

**  Fake Locke sees a bloody-looking child that Richard can't see.  He gets a little freaked out and leaves Richard behind.

**  Ilana scoops up some of the Jacob ash.  She tells us that Fake Locke is recruiting.  What can she do with the ash??

**  Fake Locke goes to Sawyer.  But he can't con the con man into believing he's the real Locke.  But he does convince Sawyer that he can explain *WHY* Sawyer is on the island.

**  Sawyer can see the kid too, but this time, he's not all bloody.  The kid tells Fake Locke that he must follow the rules and that he can't kill "him" - does the him refer to Jacob?  As in Jacob can't die??  Or Sawyer?  Fake Locke also uses Real Locke's trademark, "Don't tell me what I can't do!"

**  Richard is super afraid of Fake Locke.  Tries to convince Sawyer to go to the Temple. 

**  Sawyer brings up "Of Mice and Men" - a common book for him.

**  Fake Locke claims to be "trapped"

**  They bury Real Locke next to the rest of the dead Losties.  Ben calls Locke a believer and a better man than himself, admits to murdering him.  LaPadis is quite the jokester - "This is the weirdest damn funeral I've ever been to."

**  Sawyer heads down a cliff-side ladder ("Jacob's Ladder"?), it breaks - Fake Locke saves him.  Into a cave - with a scale, white stone and black stone.  Balance of good and evil.  Fake Locke chucks the white stone.   

** Deeper into the cave - the ceiling is covered in bunches of names & numbers, we can see "15-Ford", "16-Jarrah", "8-Reyes", "42-Kwon", "23-Shepherd", "4-Locke" (all "numbers") - a "LIST" written by Jacob and we see the "Jacob touching" flashbacks.  Weird that Kate isn't listed, even though we know that she was touched by Jacob as a little girl.  Fake Locke claims that Jacob was manipulating and pushing them to the island.  The people on the list are all candidates to protect the island.  My guess is that Fake Locke is responsible for crossing names off the ceiling, trying to eliminate all possible island guardians.  

**  Is it odd that these names were on this list, but never on one of the lists that Jacob provided Ben during Season 1?  Why not recruit these guys into the Others if they're possible protectors? 

**  Sawyer agrees to go with Fake Locke. 

New Reality:

**  Locke gets home after O815.  Drives a GMC Safari - Drew thought that was funny.  Safari.  Get it?

**  He's with Helen!!!  This Locke came to terms with things in a different way than our original Locke.  She mentions "HIS" dad - maybe they even have a different relationship in this reality.  Maybe he's paralyzed from a different accident rather than the one caused by Anthony Cooper.  Either way - Locke still lies to Helen.

**  Randy knows he lied.  And fires him.

**  Hurley owns the box company - we've known that since season 1 :-) Hurley is going to give him a new job. 

**  Locke sits in an interview with a creepy chick at the temp agency - the same creepy chick who played a tarot card reader to Hurley in a prior season.

**  Rose is the supervisor at the temp agency!  Rose works for Hurley?  Cool.  

**  Locke calls Jack but hangs up

**  Locke confesses to Helen that he was fired because he lied about the conference and that he tried to go on the Walkabout.  This Locke doesn't believe in miracles.  She rips up Jack's card:-(

**  Locke gets a substitute teaching job, Ben happens to be a teacher there too.  Fun!
