Lisa Kosty at the Deadliest Catch fan event “Catchcon” in Seattle, April 2009.
About Lisa:
Born and raised in New Jersey, Lisa has spent all of her adult life in the Midwest. After moving to Chicago, she joined the staff at US99.5 in 2004. Prior to this, she was the morning show host that friends called “The Queen Bee” at WBYT in South Bend, IN for 7 years. She also hosted a top-rated midday show at the same station for several years.
In her spare time, this Saint Mary’s College graduate loves to cook and is famous for her appetizers and baked ziti. Though one of her many hobbies is television, for which she makes no apologies, she is typically tuned to the Food network and to anything she records. Known as the TV freak of the morning show, Lisa confesses that if she meets the person who invented the DVR, she will kiss them. If there’s a show she is missing, let her know so she can start watching it! She also enjoys spending time with friends and family, shopping, and salon time. In the summer months, you can often find her on one of the city’s beaches. Year round, she loves taking advantage of the Chicago theatre scene and tries to see as many plays as possible. She has spent countless hours working on fundraising for charities, including the March of Dimes, the American Heart Association, The Komen Foundation and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Lisa lives downtown and loves being a city girl. She shares her life and love with her husband of 12 years, David, a Loyola grad and a lifelong Cub and Bear fan. In fact, the two became engaged in Chicago back in 1996. Lisa also enjoys her role as the “favorite Aunt” to Kelley, Matt, Sean, Katie, Jimmy, Jennifer, James and Michael.
Be prepared when you meet Lisa. She is most likely to give you a big hug without warning!
