Today's Date: January 27, 2010
Name: (an)Drew Walker
Birthday: March 8th
Birthplace: Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
Currently living: Near-western suburbs, only 20 minutes from downtown
Status: Married to Jill for 8+ years, our son Roy is just over 2 and our daughter Vivian is 7 days old!
EYE COLOR: Green (or are they blue? I'm color-blind)
HAIR COLOR: Blond, and barely holding on
HEIGHT: 6'0"
SHOES I WORE TODAY: Slipper socks (not leaving the house)
MY WEAKNESSES: Roy, Vivian, Jill, a great microbrew, Vintage VWs, 80s music
WHAT DO I FEAR: A few things, but they're all out of my control.
GOAL I WOULD LIKE TO ACHIEVE THIS YEAR:
To find a balance in all of it. :)
YOUR MOST OVERUSED PHRASE:
WHAT UP?
THOUGHTS WHEN I FIRST WAKE UP:
The promise of a new day ...
MY BEDTIME:
10 - 11pm, depending on Vivian's last feeding
OUT OF BED:
When either child screams awake
BLOCKBUSTER or NetFlix:
Netflix, all the way. Plus, live streaming from your computer to the TV via our wireless network. In HD.
AM I A HEALTH FREAK:
Nope, but it's a goal to shoot for, right?
DO I SWEAR:
Not as much as I used to, around the kids. :)
DO I PLAY A MUSICAL INSTRUMENT:
You bet! I played the drums through high school, also the saxophone, and sang in show choir for 4 years in college. I performed with Mel Torme, and also sang at Carnegie Hall (plus, recorded 3 CDs for Disney).
MY IDEA OF A PERFECT DATE:
A great Italian meal, followed by a show or a movie. Quality time together, just the two of us. Or a weekend in Key West.
IF I WEREN'T IN RADIO, WHAT WOULD I BE DOING:
I was a CPA in a former life (still have the license), but I wouldn't mind being a stay-at-home dad
FAVORITE FOODS:
Sushi, Indian food, "Hot Italian" pizza ... you name it, I probably like it (except liver & beans)
LITTLE KNOWN FACT ABOUT ME:
I have a photographic memory that remembers almost all phone numbers. I see it, say it out loud, and it's locked in!
I can't function without ... liquid creamer for my coffee
My new guilty pleasure ... becoming more mechanical in the garage, and trying to get Jill's permission to add to the collection. Key word is TRYING.
Life is ... watching my kids do a new thing every day, and me marveling at our blessings.
Why didn't I do this sooner ... insulating the windows with the plastic winter kits. WHAT a difference.
The one charity you might not know about, but should ... Greater Chicago Food Depository (click here)
